Enchanting & Anvils
๐ช Easy Magic โ Free Enchant Cycling
The enchanting table shows all possible enchants for an item. Spend lapis lazuli to cycle options until you see what you want. No more gambling for the right enchantment. All 3 slots cycle independently.
๐ Enchanting Infuser
A new block that lets you apply a specific enchantment from a book to any compatible item for a lapis + XP cost. The book is consumed. Use this to precisely kit out your gear.
โ๏ธ Easy Anvils โ No "Too Expensive"
The anvil's "Too Expensive" limit has been removed. Prior Work penalty is gone. Combine and rename items freely at any enchant level. Costs are still paid in XP but are never blocked.
๐ค Disenchanting Table
Craft a Disenchanting Table to extract enchantments from gear into books. You lose the item but recover the enchantment. Great for salvaging gear you find in structures.
Recommended enchant path: Find or trade for enchanted books โ use Enchanting Infuser to apply them precisely โ if you find over-enchanted gear in dungeons, strip it with the Disenchanting Table.
Mending & Experience
โจ Better Than Mending
Mending still auto-repairs while gaining XP. Additionally: Shift + Right-click with a Mending item in hand to manually consume XP from your pool to repair it. Useful when you want to repair without fighting or mining.
๐ Global XP Pool
Your XP bar is now a global pool shared across all activities. Mining, fighting, farming, and fishing all feed into the same XP counter. You're always gaining and Mending is always working โ even afk-style setups.
โก Clumps
XP orbs merge into large single orbs instead of scattering as hundreds of tiny ones. Kills and mining produce one large orb rather than a spray. Reduces entity count and improves performance in combat.
๐ Skills XP
Puffish Skills tracks its own XP independently per skill category. You gain both vanilla XP and skill XP simultaneously from any action. They don't compete โ Mending is fed by vanilla XP, skills track separately.
Farming & Cooking
Farmer's Delight and its addons dramatically expand the food system. Here's what changed:
๐ฟ New Crops
Farmer's Delight adds: rice, onion, tomato, cabbage, carrot, potato variants, wild berries, and many more. All farmable in vanilla farmland. Use REI to discover recipes.
๐ณ Cooking Pot
Craft a Cooking Pot (Farmer's Delight) to cook composite meals. Place food items in the pot with a bowl underneath โ it produces high-saturation dishes. Most valuable meals in the pack come from this.
๐ช Cutting Board
Craft a Cutting Board and use a knife to process ingredients into components. Many Farmer's Delight recipes require cut versions of foods. Knives are crafted from metal ingots.
๐ฑ Right-Click Harvest
Right-click a fully grown crop to harvest it and automatically replant from your inventory. No more breaking and replanting one-by-one. Works with vanilla crops and Farmer's Delight crops.
๐ Animal Feeding Trough
Place an Animal Feeding Trough near passive animals and fill it with food. Animals will eat from it to breed automatically. No need to hand-feed each animal individually for large farms.
๐ Seasons (Serene Seasons)
Crops grow at different rates depending on the season. Some crops only grow in specific seasons. Summer accelerates most growth; winter slows or stops crops without a greenhouse setup. Watch the season indicator.
Winter crops: Most standard crops will not grow in winter without shelter. Build a glass-roofed greenhouse with proper lighting to farm year-round.
Combat & Mobs
๐น Mutant Monsters
Rare mutant variants of zombies, creepers, skeletons, endermen, and more appear in the world. They are 3โ5x larger, have massive HP and damage, and unique abilities. A Mutant Zombie can one-shot iron armor in early game. Run if you're not ready.
โญ Mob Captains
Named elite mobs with glowing auras appear across the world. They have boosted stats, custom gear, and drop better loot on death. Target them for early rare items. They're dangerous but worth it.
โ๏ธ Illager Invasions
Illager groups will periodically attack player bases directly โ not just villages. If you've been active and have a base, raids can target you. Build defenses or hire iron golems. Light your perimeter.
๐ฟ Naturally Trimmed Armor
Mobs in specific biomes now spawn wearing appropriately trimmed armor that reflects their environment. This makes mob armor drops more interesting and occasionally more valuable.
๐ง Yggdrasil Boss
A world-level boss added by Yggdrasil. Details are intentionally left mysterious โ discover the lore in-game. Requires group coordination. Do not attempt alone.
๐๏ธ Friends & Foes
Adds previously cut mobs including the Illusioner (wizard illager with mirror clones), Copper Golem, and others. The Illusioner can appear in Woodland Mansions and structures.
Difficulty note: LockdownMC is harder than vanilla. Early game especially โ don't underestimate mob threat. Gear up before exploring far. Travel in groups when possible.
Movement & Traversal
๐ Block Runner
You move noticeably faster on natural terrain blocks โ grass, dirt, gravel, sand, etc. Paths and paved roads are no longer cosmetic; they actually don't help as much as raw ground. Embrace the outdoors.
๐คธ Jump Over Fences
Jump into a fence to vault over it. You're no longer stopped by a one-block-high fence if you choose to jump. Fences still block passive mobs effectively; this is a player-only ability.
๐ Elevators
Craft Elevator blocks (Elevator mod). Place them in a vertical column and jump to go up, sneak to go down. Each floor needs a corresponding elevator block directly above/below. Great for multi-story bases.
โ Waystones
Waystone blocks can be crafted or found in structures. Right-click to name and activate one. Once activated, you can teleport to it from any other Waystone. A warp network costs resources to use.
Building & Blocks
๐ช Diagonal Blocks
Walls, fences, and glass panes can now be placed diagonally between blocks. Corner pieces render correctly. This works automatically โ place a fence between two perpendicular blocks and a diagonal fill appears.
๐ Connectible Chains
Chain blocks can be placed horizontally and at angles. Use them for lantern hangs, bridges, and decorative rope-like structures. Right-click to start a chain connection.
๐๏ธ Carry On
Shift + Right-click any tile entity (chest, furnace, barrel, etc.) to pick it up as a block in your inventory. All its contents come with it. Place it elsewhere to set it down. Works on small mobs too.
๐ชจ Stoneworks & Moar Concrete
The stonecutter gains many new recipes. All concrete colors have full stair/slab/wall variants. Stone types from Terralith's new biomes also have slab/stair variants. More building blocks than ever before.
๐ Double Doors
Place two door blocks side by side and they behave as a pair. Opening one automatically opens the other. Works with all wood types. No more asymmetric doors.
๐ผ๏ธ Visual Workbench
Crafting tables display the items left in their crafting grid visually on their surface. Shared crafting setups show what someone left mid-craft. Pure visual improvement, no mechanical change.
World Generation Changes
The world is fundamentally different from vanilla. Here's what to expect:
Continents, not uniform terrain
The Overworld generates as real continents separated by oceans. The spawn area may be a coast. Inland travel may require boats or long walks. Mountain ranges and plains are dramatically more pronounced.
85+ new biomes (Terralith)
New biomes like Alpine Grove, Moonlit Valley, Savanna Slopes, and dozens more. Each has unique terrain, grass colors, and tree types. Vanilla biomes are still present but heavily reshaped. Use Nature's Compass to find specific ones.
Overhauled vanilla structures
Every vanilla structure has been reworked by Dungeons & Taverns. Desert temples are now multi-room dungeons. Strongholds are larger and more complex. Ocean monuments have new wings. Don't approach them expecting vanilla loot layouts.
Instanced loot (Lootr)
Structure chest loot is instanced per player. Everyone who enters a dungeon sees different items in the chests. You cannot loot a chest someone else already opened and vice versa. This means multi-player dungeon runs always reward everyone.
Seasons (Serene Seasons)
A full year cycles through Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Each affects temperature, precipitation, crop growth, and visual appearance. Winter is the hardest season โ food supply can run low without preparation.
Lighting & Atmosphere
๐ฏ๏ธ Dynamic Lights (Lambda)
Any item that emits light actually emits light when held in your hand. Torches light your path while you carry them. Glowstone in your inventory doesn't count โ it has to be in your hand or active slot.
๐ Sound Physics
Audio bounces off walls and terrain. Caves produce reverb. Sounds muffled through solid blocks. You can hear if a mob is on the other side of a wall and roughly judge its distance. Wear headphones for maximum effect.
๐ Falling Leaves
Trees shed falling leaf particles in autumn and when wind occurs. Purely visual but makes the world feel significantly more alive. Disable in Video Settings โ Particles if you want a performance boost.
๐ Magnum Torch
Craft a Magnum Torch from a torch and an iron block. Place it in your base to prevent all mob spawning in a 64-block radius. Essential for large bases โ covers more area than thousands of individual torches.
